Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Yes indeed, My favorite movie is "The Wizard of Oz". Has been for twenty years now. Not only do I love the movie, I have all the Oz books, and every Oz movie ever made. Later on this month they will be putting out the 70th anniversity edition and being the Oz nerd I am I have already pre-ordered my copy. My mom let me watch this movie at a very young age and I have fond memories of my father reading me the story. Who is my favorite character you might ask? The Scarecrow is my favorite character, because I relate to him. In every book I read I find one character I relate too. The Scarecrow in this case is because he is smarter than he thinks he is. And, he has three best friends that will help along the way. We all have friends that help him. I also have read Gregory Maguire's, Wicked Triology. Makes you think differently of the Wicked Witch theory. Here is some trivia for you: Did you know that in the books the shoes are not ruby but silver? So, growing up I didnt want ruby slippers I wanted silver! This year, March to be exact me and Robbie went to Branson as a girl's getting away weekend. We had a blast: went shopping, went to the Titanic musem, Ripleys Believe it or not, enjoyed watching it snow while we were in our hot tub indoors, and met some amazing airbrushers. But... why am I telling you all this? For Christmas I asked mom for a emerald green ring it did not have to be real but just emerald green. So, me and Robbie went shopping got a bunch of stuff like I got a sign in my room that says "Yellow Brick Road Blvd". But, the last place we went to was this little gift shop I can not remember the name of it to save my soul. And, Robbie was looking at jewelery and she hollared (well not scream) Lindsey, come here! So, I went over to her and she knew bad I wanted a emerald ring. She found one! I was like, "Robbie it is not gonna fit". Well, everyone it fit and it was only $10! I bought it no questions asked. So, everyday on my right hand since I bought it (yes it does the finger green only downfall) I wear it. It reminds me of the love I have for this beloved movie. And, like I said I love ballet flats... just so happens I have a red sequin pair I barely wear, and a pair of silver ones I need to replace. So call me a nerd.... if you wish. Now, I am going to share with you my favorite quote from the book, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz".
"She threw her arms around the Lion's neck and kissed him, patting his big head tenderly. Then she kissed the Tin Woodman, who was weeping in a way most dangerous to his joints. But she hugged the soft, stuffed body of the Scarecrow in her arms instead of kissing his painted face, and found she was crying herself at this sorrowful parting from her loving comrades."
Isn't that just beautifuly written, I always thought it was werid she never kissed the Scarecrow. If you were to miss him most of all, wouldn't you of kissed him goodbye. Oh well. I just thought I would do a tag I got requested to do, and hope you enjoy learning more about me. I will write more later I promise. I love you and Keep Smiling.
